Our Lady of Grace Statue Installed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery

Today at Gate of Heaven Cemetery a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Grace was placed atop of the columbarium. The purchase of the statue, now a focal point in the cremation garden section, was made possible from the generous donations of many families. Marianne Linka, Director of Cemeteries, expressed, “We are thankful to all who made a donation towards the purchase of Our Lady of Grace.” Linka continued, “This lovely statue of Our Lady adds beauty to the cremation garden while bringing comfort to families knowing she is watching over their loved ones inurned in the columbarium and the cremation garden.

Over the past several years focus has been on expanding burial options at Gate of Heaven Cemetery particularly for those choosing cremation. “With more Catholics choosing cremation, we want to offer more choices for inurning cremated remains,” stated Linka. Hence, the cremation section, now a cremation garden, offers several additional options such as inurnment in cremation pedestals and cremation cabinets.
