SACRED HEART CEMETERY IS RECOGNIZED BY VINELAND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION

Scott Omahne, Bud Plexico, Craig Goldsmid with Sue Fenili

Sue Fenili, Vineland Environmental Commission Member, congratulated the fieldworkers at Sacred Heart Cemetery for properly mulching the trees located throughout Sacred Heart Cemetery.  The correct way to mulch is to create a “donut” shape around the tree trunk.  It is best to mulch 6 inches from the trunk and mulch out as far as the branches extend above.  In recent years, the trend has been to mulch in a “volcano” shape.  Using this approach will eventually harm and kill the tree.

Landscapers and homeowners are welcome to visit Sacred Heart Cemetery to see how to mulch using the “donut”shape. Click here for directions to Sacred Heart.  If you would like to speak to one of our fieldworkers, please call the office at 856-691-1290.
