This event, specifically for funeral homes and those in ministry who perform the Corporal Work of Mercy of Burying the Dead, will begin with a prayer service by presider, Father Robert Hughes. Following the prayer service will be hospitality and a presentation by Monsignor Peter Joyce regarding cremation and the instructions of Ad resurgendum cum Christo. We will offer 4 – 20 minute breakout sessions covering these topics:
- Practical & Pastoral Insights for Choosing & Preparing the Liturgies for Catholic Funerals
- Practical & Pastoral Insights for Choosing & Preparing the Liturgies for Catholic Funerals in the Latino community
- Cultural & Ability Diversity in Funeral Traditions
- Program for Abandoned Cremated Remains (This is for funeral homes only.)
All parish ministries and funeral homes located in southern New Jersey working with Catholic families in preparation of funeral arrangements are invited to attend. In order to accommodate all who would like to attend this event, pre-registration is required.
